Initial Thoughts
I’ve been looking forward to reviewing the Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Maduro for a while now. We just added this cigar to our store, so I grabbed one out of the box for today’s review.
The Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Maduro Toro is an interesting cigar. Since it comes from the Aganorsa brand, it’s wrapped in a chocolatey Corojo leaf that has been aged longer to achieve the “maduro” status. Maduro means ripe or mature in Spanish.
On the cold draw, the Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Maduro Toro offered up notes of baking spices. Once lit, the flavors were mostly spicy, a little sweet, and with a little bit of Earth thrown in for good measure. After a few puffs, I tasted chocolate cake.
Was the Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Maduro Toro worth my excitement? Is it worth almost $16? Let’s smoke it and find out!

Final Thoughts
It’s not often you find a corojo maduro-wrapped cigar. In fact, the only other time I think I’ve seen that is with the Aganorsa Signature Maduro, another cigar I really enjoyed. So, if you’re not into cigars with a little spice, you might want to avoid Aganorsa Leaf’s cigars altogether.
That said, the Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Maduro Toro is a spicy and sweet delight to smoke. Even after almost 75 minutes, the flavors were quite delicious and enjoyable.
Regarding the construction, there were a couple of flaws. Admittedly, the humidity was low since I received them without a humidification, and I should’ve let the box rest for a few weeks before diving into today’s review. Also, there was some slight uneven burning and a little reverse-coning that I had to deal with, but that could’ve been due to my lack of attentiveness.
All things considered, this is a great cigar I can’t wait to smoke again. The Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Maduro Toro earns a CigarScore 4.
