The Camacho Corojo features authentic Honduran Corojo tobaccos to craft this cigar (wrapper, binder, and filler), all grown and harvested in the picture-perfect Jamastran valley in Honduras. Handsomely dark in appearance with minor veins, there is a rich, profoundly leathery character to this cigar, which also offers cedar wood and earthy notes. A bold experience for those in love with stronger cigars.

    Initial Thoughts:
Every once in awhile, I see a cigar bundle I just have to have. I love cigar 5-packs because they let you sample a blend or a brand without committing to the purchase of another box. Well, today’s cigar, the Camacho Corojo Robusto came from just such a bundle, and I’m excited to review it!

The Camacho Corojo Robusto is a great looking cigar. Even the fragrance of the pre-lit cigar was appealing, though I did smell some tobacco that seemed a little underaged.

After punching the end, the somewhat tight cold draw produced flavors that were grassy and, perhaps, a little bit sour. Through the first third, I could still taste some of the ammonia on the leaves, which is another indication that this cigar did not age long enough.

    CigarScore: 3
    Brand: Camacho
    Line: Corojo
    Size: 5 x 50
    Cut: Guillotine Punch V-Cut
    Light: Torch

    Wrapper: Honduran Corojo
    Binder: Honduran Corojo Ligero
    Filler: Honduras
    Smoke Time: 70 minutes

Through the middle of the cigar, I did have to touch up an uneven burn. The bitter flavors were still present, and the draw was tighter than I would’ve liked.

    Final Thoughts:
At the end of the day, the flavors of the Camacho Corojo Robusto were merely okay, and I experienced a terrible burn. The draw was also tight for most of the cigar.

I think this cigar needed to ferment or age for longer to extract the best possible flavors from the tobacco. Then, it needed to rest and for much longer than the three months I had it in order to get a more consistent humidity in hopes of a more even burn. So the Camacho Corojo Robusto earns a CigarScore 3.
