Description

The CAO BX3 boasts a deep and complex smoking experience from its three Brazilian tobacco leaves. That’s right. Triple the exotic Brazilian tobacco. The marriage of these tobaccos yields a rich and smooth flavor profile synonymous with the incredible terroir of Brazil. They [CAO] started with a dark and oily Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper, bringing a flavorful depth and intensity into the equation. From there, [they] added a smooth and slightly sweet, yet earthy Brazilian Arapiraca leaf to bind a blend consisting of yet another Brazilian Mata Fina leaf in addition to [their] best Nicaraguan, Honduran and Mexican premium filler tobaccos.

    Initial Thoughts
The CAO BX3 is the latest evolution of a line of cigars that include the CAO MX2 and CAO CX2, but this time, we’re getting three Brazilian leaves.

Right off the bat, the CAO BX3 Toro is a good-looking cigar. The Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper is well marbled, though there were changes in the coloring, so it looked barber-poled. The wrapper was also wonderfully oily.

On the nose, the CAO BX3 smells amazing. Pre-light, the wrapper leaf was very aromatic. Once lit, the cigar delivered wonderful smells right to my nose.

Through the first few minutes, the CAO BX3 tasted like a budget CAO Amazon Basin. Is this a regular run cigar that you can smoke year around? Let’s find out.

    Final Thoughts
The CAO BX3 Toro is an interesting cigar. While it had good flavors, it also had some flavors that were just okay. There were some burn issues, but I was able to smoke it for over an hour and a half.

Overall, this is a good smoke at a good price point. There’s not a lot to complain about, and the flavors that were merely “good” to me might be great for you. And, since the burn issues didn’t impact the smoking experience, the CAO BX3 Toro earns a CigarScore 5.
