Description
Inspired by hot rods and pin-up girls, CAO Flathead is a box pressed badass that hits on all cylinders – as evidenced by the 95 rating it earned from Cigar Aficionado. Hand-shaped to deliver a striking flat top, the cigar features a brawny Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and a blend that’s heavy on Nicaraguan leaf. Its frontmarks are named for engine parts, but the tribute to muscle cars doesn’t end there – the packaging gives a nod to the muscle car engine with a lid that’s easily removed and used as wall art.

Initial Thoughts:
The CAO Flathead V660 is one of the highest-rated, larger ring gauge cigars in the world. In fact, it won the #3 slot for Cigar of the Year by Cigar Aficionado in 2015. In the years since I’ve been hoping to grab one of these sticks to enjoy, and today I get to.
The CAO Flathead V660 is a big, thick cigar with a flat head at the smoking end. After a quick punch, the draw starts smooth. I can immediately tell that this cigar is going to live up to its promise of being a very full-bodied cigar.

Final Thoughts:
After enjoying the CAO Flathead V660 for well over an hour, I can say that this is one of the boldest smokes I’ve ever had. The burn was consistently great, the draw never tightened, and the flavors were pretty solid throughout the entire thing.
However, there was some harshness that was hidden underneath all of those bold flavors. But I would smoke another one and I would definitely recommend the CAO Flathead V660 to anyone who is looking for a full-bodied, full-flavored cigar to enjoy after a full meal. For these reasons, I give the Flathead V660 a CigarScore of 4.
