The CAO Pilon uses the time-honored tradition of using a carefully layered stack of tobacco leaves to help ferment the tobacco to maximize the flavor and color of the leaves. Dating back to 19th century Cuba, this natural method of fermentation delivers a taste and appearance that just can’t be reached otherwise. Each CAO Pilon features an Ecuadorian Habano Viso wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and filler tobaccos from both the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

Initial Thoughts: The CAO Pilon lit with a great taste. The flavor was smooth yet complex. I know it’s a small thing, but the wrapper had no thick veins, and I could tell this cigar was made really well.
As I finished the first 1/3 of the cigar, I noticed how well the mild flavors blended together. At the halfway mark, the CAO Pilon remained very consistent, no surprises, no drops in construction quality.

Final Thoughts:
This cigar was impressive. The burn was consistent and even, the ash was dense enough to stick around until I knocked it off, and the draw was never too tight or too loose. I would smoke the CAO Pilon again, but it’s not one I’d rave about.
