Description
The Crowned Heads Jericho Hill was inspired by Johnny Cash’s rendition of “Cocaine Blues,” found on Cash’s 1968 live album, “At Folsom Prison.” The song is a tale of a man, Willy Lee, who goes down a dark path brought on by the influence of whiskey and cocaine. Willy is captured in Juarez, Mexico, and is brought to justice by the sheriff from Jericho Hill.
Cash was the fourth of seven children, and Jericho Hill marks the fourth regular production release from Crowned Heads. The four vitola names were all inspired by lyrics and music found on “At Folsom Prison,” and when recited from smallest to largest (.44S, LBV, OBS, and Willy Lee), take on a lyrical element of their own.
The smoke is a full-throttle experience that assaults your palate at break-neck speed, races around your mouth for a hundred miles and leaves your taste buds in a cloud of power, intensity, and excitement.

Initial Thoughts:
Crowned Heads is a cigar brand with which I’m not terribly familiar. I’ve come across them in the past, but I couldn’t tell you if I’ve ever had one of their cigars. So, when a friend offered me one of his Crowned Heads Jericho Hill LBVs that he’d been sitting on for a few years, I was pretty pumped!
This cigar is long, thin, and beautifully dark. After a couple of quick pokes with my Select Draw Cigar Cutter, the Jericho Hill lit easily.
Regarding the flavors, there are rich, leathery flavors combined with spice. It tastes both exotic and familiar, with its Mexican San Andres wrapper and Nicaraguan fillers.

Final Thoughts:
After enjoying the Crowned Heads Jericho Hill LBV for almost two hours, I have to say, I liked this cigar. The draw was near perfect, and although there was a slightly uneven burn in the middle, this cigar performed very well. The peppery, leathery flavors were delicious and never got harsh.
Because I’d smoke this cigar again, and because it comes in at a more-than-fair pricepoint, the Crowned Heads Jericho Hill earns a CigarScore 5.
