Initial Thoughts
The Diesel Rage Toro is a pretty basic-looking cigar. But, looks can be deceiving. The only way you’ll know who makes this cigar and what blend it is is by the small band around the foot.
Other than its discrete branding, the Diesel Rage Toro was a good-looking cigar. It appeared to have a slight box press to it, and the wrapper leaf was dark brown and almost dry-looking. Additionally, it looks like this cigar was coated in vegetable glue which gave it an almost ashy-gray coating that made it looks fake.
On the first puff though, the Diesel Rage Toro did remind me of the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary, a cigar also blended by AJ Fernandez. Right off the bat, this cigar is strong, spicy, and sweet.
Have I started to recognize AJ’s secret sauce? Is the Diesel Rage Toro worth $12.75? Stick around and we shall see.

Final Thoughts
After smoking the Diesel Rage Toro for just over 90 minutes, I was left with an impression that was… decent. The Rage is a decent cigar that hits all the right points, but a cigar that does so without much flare or excitement.
Regarding the flavors, they were bold the cigar had plenty of strength. Some sweetness did pop up occasionally. That said, the flavors were pretty straightforward and one-dimensional. They weren’t that complex, and there was no progression or change or evolution of this cigar from the beginning to the middle to the end.
But in the end, flavors are subjective, and the price point on this cigar is about right. Plus, the construction on this stick was about perfect, so the Diesel Rage Toro earns a CigarScore 4.
