In 2010, to the 135th birthday of Julius Caeser (J.C.) Newman and the company’s 115th anniversary, Diamond Crown Julius Caeser was released. Diamond Crown Julius Caeser cigars are meticulously rolled by hand in small batches by Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic. You will discover that it is the especially flavorful Ecuadorian Havana-seed wrappers combined with a smooth, robust blend of fine Dominican binder, select Dominican and Central American filler tobaccos, carefully aged for five years, that gives Julius Caeser its bold, rich distinctive flavor.

Initial Thoughts:
At $18.95, the Diamond Crown Julius Caesar Toro is the second most expensive I’ve ever purchased (#1 was a Cuban Cohiba). The wrapper shined, the filler tobacco was well packed, and the punch provided a slightly tight, but good draw.
While smoking, I got an oily, delicious feeling in my mouth; I know, a weird thing to say, but some cigars leave you with cottonmouth. The flavors are so well blended that I couldn’t pinpoint any single one, but the Julius Caesar has a heck of a good taste to it.

Final Thoughts:
Overall, the Diamond Crown Julius Caesar Toro earns a CigarScore of 4. The cigar is good, but it’s expensive. And, it’s more expensive than the My Father Le Bijou 1922 which is equally well made but has a better flavor. If you’re a true cigar enthusiast, you should try a Julius Caesar at least once, but, for the price, there are better cigars out there.
