La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro is a new cigar blended in a new way with new tobaccos. The limited edition Corojo de Oro features a Sun Grown Criollo de Oro wrapper from the previously un-farmed region of Mao in the Dominican Republic. The binder is a United States Connecticut Broadleaf, and the filler tobaccos are from Honduras and Nicaragua.

Initial Thoughts
Following hot on the heals of the great review we gave the LGC 8th Street from 2023, today we’re diving into the La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro Toro.
The La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro Toro is a somewhat rustic-looking cigar, with a slightly bumpy exterior and some thicker veins. To the touch, the Dominican Criollo de Oro wrapper leaf has a nice oily feel to it. And, before even lighting the cigar, I enjoyed the aroma coming off of this wrapper leaf. Once lit, the aroma of the smoke was also quite wonderful.
Once lit, the flavors were good. I tasted spice, but not a ton of it, along with something creamy and buttery. Will the La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro be worth almost $12? Let’s find out.

Final Thoughts
For the entire 90 minute smoke time, I struggled with the burn on this cigar. I had to even up the La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro three times, and had to relight it once in the final third. I might suggest you dry-box these for a few days before lighting one up.
That said, the flavors on the Corojo de Oro were very good. I really enjoyed the combination of spice and buttery-creaminess. However, the flavors didn’t change much from the beginning to the middle and end.
This cigar was a good one, but not a great one. I liked the price point, but the burn issues keep this one from scoring higher. The La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro Toro earns a CigarScore 3.
