    Initial Thoughts
During the cigar boom of the 1990s, some of the biggest, most successful cigar brands were sitting pretty good. Companies like La Gloria Cubana, CAO, Arturo Fuente, and others had a virtual monopoly on premium cigars. Fast forward to today, and we get to smoke not only these “legacy” cigars, but we also get to sample the cigars made by smaller, boutique brands.

Today, we’re going to look at a cigar from the former. Sort of. The La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo is a new blend from a legacy brand, and we’re going to see if they’re take on new flavors stands up to the competition.

The La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo is a great-looking cigar. The Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper is really tasty-looking and has a nice oily texture to it. Once cut and lit, the flavors were okay, but I wasn’t impressed. However, the Serie S Maduro came alive within seconds.

Is the La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo a tasty, new cigar from a older, legacy company? Let’s find out.

    Final Thoughts
After smoking this La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo for just under 90 minutes, I realized this cigar needed time to rest. While most of the cigars that ship from have been in their humidors for at least a few weeks before shipping out, this one wasn’t; I smoked it right out of the box.

While the flavors of the La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo were enjoyable, I experienced some construction issues due to not letting the cigar rest before smoking it. There was some extra humidity on what would’ve been the box side of the cigar, and that is likely what contributed to the uneven burn.

I enjoyed the flavors, but there was a construction issues. Let this cigar rest for a few weeks or months, and I believe this one will be a winner. The La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro Robusto Gordo earns a CigarScore 4.
