Initial Thoughts
If you’ve been avoiding and ignoring Macanudo’s cigars for the past 15 years, it’s time to get your head on straight, get with the program, and get yourself the new Macanudo Inspirado Black.
A few years ago, Macanudo decided to get back into the conversation around cigars. So, they hired a new blender, and now we have all of the cigars in the Inspirado line. There’s a Black, Green, Red, White, and Orange blend, and today we’re taking a critical look at the Macanudo Inspirado Black Toro.
The Macanudo Inspirado Black has a dark, well-marbled Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. It’s a little bumpy, almost rustic, and reminds me of a Plasencia.
On the cold draw, I tasted a light wood and maybe something a little spicy. Once lit, the flavors were rich-ish and sweet-ish.
Will the Macanudo Inpsirado Black Toro breathe new life into the Macanudo brand? Is it worth almost $10? Let’s find out.

Final Thoughts: For just under $10, the Macanudo Inspirado Black Toro is a great cigar. At $12-14, maybe not. But for ten bucks, I can recommend it.
While it might not be my favorite cigar, this Inpirado Black had great construction. The flavors were good; they were sweet and a little spicy, and the Broadleaf wrapper was nicely contrasted by the Sumatran binder.
This cigar smoked well and offered an enjoyable experience, so the Macanudo Inspirado Black Toro earns a CigarScore 5.
