Description

The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro is Plasencia's newest blend in the Fuerte collection. While made like the rest of the Almas with a ten-year aging process, its Colorado Claro wrapper and hexagonal shape create a distinctive taste with a tempered body. Flavors include cocoa and almonds, with hints of nutmeg and cedar in the final notes.

Initial Thoughts: Sometimes we review cigars because we want to know what to buy. Sometimes we review cigars because the community on YouTube asks us to. But today, we’re reviewing the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I because, well, it’s not at all what we expected it to be.

Whereas most of the other Alma Fuerte cigars from Plasencia have a black and gold label, the Sixto I has a dark green and gold label. In fact, it’s so dark green, that it’s almost black, and it’s likely going to confuse a lot of buyers. However, the Sixto I (green) and the Sixto II (black) are very different cigars. Visuals aside, let’s get started.

Upon cutting the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I, I could immediately smell the tobacco inside. It’s like piercing the cap release a cloud of aroma. Weird. That said, the draw was absolutely perfect, and I tasted cedar and maybe cinnamon on the cold draw.

Once lit, the Sixto I separated itself from its brethren and offered up flavors that were cedary, a little spicy, and quite doughy like unbaked, sweet bread.

    CigarScore: 5
    Brand: Plasencia
Line: Alma Fuerte Colorado / Sixto I
    Size: 6 x 60 BP
    Cut: V-Cut
    Light: Torch

    Wrapper: Nicaraguan Natural Colorado Claro
    Binder: Nicaragua
    Filler: Nicaragua
    Smoke Time: 90 minutes

Through the middle of the cigar, the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I is a pretty good cigar. The construction is good, the draw is good, and the flavors are also good. Also, the draw is perfect and I can get plenty of smoke.

    Final Thoughts
Despite some terrible and confusing branding, the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I is actually a well made and good tasting cigar. The Sixto I delivered flavors that were woody, cedary, and sometimes quite creamy and sweet.

The second half of the cigar didn’t burn as fast as the first half, so I was able to enjoy the cigar right up until the point it started to burn my fingers at around the 90 minute mark.

Although the Sixto I is just a tad expensive, it still offers us a great smoking experience. And, whether you bought this one by mistake or you knew you were getting the “green one,” I think you’ll enjoy it. For these reasons, the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I earns a CigarScore 5.
