Over the past couple of years, Punch Cigars has come out with some really unique, whimsical, and, honestly, delicious cigars. From the Punch Dragon Fire in 2024, to the Spring Roll in 2023, Punch has been on a tear when it comes to small batch, moderately-limited addition cigars. And today we’re going to review their most-recent blend, the Punch Dad’s Home Movies Toro.
Initial Thoughts
The first thing you’ll notice about the Punch Dad’s Home Movies Toro is its packaging. If you’re old enough, you might remember VHS tapes and Blockbuster, and these cigars play right into that nostalgia (images below video).
But the Dad’s Home Movies cigar isn’t just a gimmick. Inside the unique packaging is a surprisingly attractive cigar. The Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf is smooth, and the tiny elements on the label show a great attention to detail.
On the cold draw, the flavors were woody, leafy, and a little floral, and it had the perfect amount of resistance. Once lit, the Punch Dad’s Home Movies Toro had a pleasant, smokey aroma, and it offered up some nice spice on the retrohale.
Is the Punch Dad’s Home Movies Toro worth it’s moderate price point of $8.25? Or, will this this unique cigar punch above its weight class? Let’s find out.

Final Thoughts
I was able to smoke the Punch Dad’s Home Movies BP Toro for about 97 mostly-enjoyable minutes. In the final third, the cigar burned hot. When I took the label off, I noticed a small crack in the wrapper leaf, and that did become a problem. While the construction had some issues, the flavor of the Dad’s Home Movies was enjoyable.
Other than the crack in the wrapper, I liked this cigar quite a bit. The Punch Dad’s Home Movies Toro earns a CigarScore 4.
