Initial Thoughts
As a follow-up to the Punch Spring Roll in 2023, to celebrate the “year of the dragon” on the Chinese calendar, Punch has release today’s cigar, the Punch Dragon Fire Robusto.
The Punch Dragon Fire Robusto 2024 is a short, fat cigar with a flat head and a mostly closed foot that’s meant, apparently, to look like a fire cracker. Or, a long shotgun shell. The label is intricate and beautiful, and probably cost as much as this budget-friendly cigar.
Presented with a large ring gauge and an flat surface on the cutting end, I decided to use my Lotus 11mm Punch to open up this cigar, and I was rewarded with a good draw. Once lit, the draw was fantastic and I was able to get tons of smoke on even my first puffs. The first flavors were spicy and sweet.
Is the Punch Dragon Fire Robusto any good? Should you buy a box before they sell out?

Final Thoughts
I got to smoke the Punch Dragon Fire Robusto for about 90 minutes, and for the most part, I enjoyed it.
While it started a little slow, the Dragon Fire really came into its own in the second half. I didn’t love the flat head; I thought it was a little awkward to smoke, especially with the 60 ring gauge.
Regarding the construction on this Punch Dragon Fire Robusto, that was pretty good as well. There was a slightly uneven burn in the middle that had to be retouched, and it became uneven again in the final third.
Grab these limited edition cigars while you can. Despite the minor burn issue I had, I think you’ll enjoy it. The Punch Dragon Fire Robusto earns a CigarScore 4.
