Initial Thoughts
The Southern Draw Rose of Sharon Desert Rose Lonsdale is a great-looking cigar. The pink and black on the paper label provide a nice contrast, and the wrapper leaf is as smooth as silk.
Visually, the Desert Rose Lonsdale has both a pigtail tip and a closed foot. Both features are somewhat common, but you rarely see both of these craftsman’s techniques. The wrapper leaf was nearly perfect, and the cigar might’ve had a slight oiliness to it.
The Southern Draw Desert Rose also smelled sweet and amazing. The cold draw, however, was a little bit sour and unappealing.
Once lit, the flavors were quite diverse. The ligero leaves were bold, but there was also a grassy taste, possibly from the “cloud grown claro” wrapper leaf.
Is the Southern Draw Rose of Sharon Desert Rose Lonsdale deceptively bold? Is it worth more than $12? Let’s find out.

Final Thoughts
I’m pretty meticulous about how I keep my cigars, and I kept the Southern Draw Rose of Sharon Desert Rose at almost exactly 69% RH for several days. After smoking this one for review, I think this cigar and blend should be kept at 67% RH (maybe even 65%) instead of the standard 69/70% RH.
Regarding the flavors, overall I enjoyed the Southern Draw Rose of Sharon Desert Rose Lonsdale. I don’t think it paired all that well with my black coffee, but that doesn’t discount the enjoyable taste of the cigar itself. Additionally, this cigar, because of the liger fillers, is stronger than it looks.
Despite the burn issues that had to be dealt with, the bold and delicious Southern Draw Rose of Sharon Desert Rose Lonsdale earns a CigarScore 4.
