    Initial Thoughts
The Reserva Broadleaf line of cigars from Pete Johnson’s Tatuaje is hard to find. So when I was able to secure a box for the Adventure Club, I jumped at the chance. Today we’re going to review the Tatuaje Reserva Broadleaf K222 Broadleaf Toro.

Visually, the Tatuaje Reserva Broadleaf K222 Broadleaf was a great-looking cigar. It had a medium-dark brown wrapper with a lot of texture and tooth to it. Under the wrapper was a thick binder with a veiny leaf that created a slight bulge to the side of the cigar.

When I put the unlit cigar to my nose, the aroma coming off of the wrapper leaf was intoxicating. The Tatuaje Reserva Broadleaf was one great-smelling, aromatic cigar.

On the cold draw, my taste buds were blasted with the flavors of fresh cedar shavings. Once lit, the cigar offered up an interesting and confusing combination of wood, cedar, and sour flavors that I did not enjoy.

Will the Tatuaje Reserva Broadleaf K222 Broadleaf taste as good as it smelled? Let’s find out.

After the first few puffs that weren’t great, the Tatuaje Reserva Broadleaf K222 Broadleaf Toro made a dramatic change for the better. Minutes into the cigar, I started to really enjoy it.

    Final Thoughts
I was able to smoke the Reserva Broadleaf K222 for about an hour. Overall, the construction of this cigar was about perfect. The burn was great and the draw, while it could’ve been more open, was good enough.

However, in the final third, either the blend changed and became bolder, it the accumulation of smoke caught up with me. Either way, I didn’t care for the final 2″ of this cigar.

Because I didn’t like how this cigar finished, the Tatuaje Reserva Broadleaf K222 Broadleaf earns a CigarScore 4.
